The Beginning
The first Wenlock shop was opened in Maldon, Essex in 1936 by Mr C Wenlock Snr, and was situated on the High Street. The business mainly comprised of retailing general drapers products. It was a family run business, with a small number of loyal employees. Soon the business had expanded and Mr Wenlock Snr enlarged his premises, still located on the High Street.
From 1993, Jonathan Wenlock, the founder’s son, has run the business, and the next generation have shown a keen interest in taking over the reins.
Customer service is the prime objective for company motivation. Every effort is made to source new specialist products and allows us to remain at the forefront of the curtain industry.

The company is presently owned and managed by members of the Wenlock family -

Wenlocks has grown since its inception in 1936, and now operates a team of over 10 persons, servicing and distributing throughout Essex.
This professional team meets regularly for instruction, guidelines and the release of new samples. They are dedicated and well trained with the experience to meet all customers needs. The in-house sales personnel ensure distribution of products and services are of the highest standard.
To efficiently service our customers needs requires a well stocked shop and a dedicated and experienced team. This we have at our shop situated at 77 High Street Maldon, Essex CM9 5EP. Our products can be viewed by visiting our shop, and our friendly staff will do all they can to make your visit a pleasure.
There is ample car parking in Butt Lane Car Park, which is very close to our shop. From the car park just walk down Wenlock Way to the High Street and the front of our shop.
